Our Adoption Process

Step 1:

Join The Waiting List

Your first step is to check out who we have available and ask to adopt them. If there are currently no suitable pets available, please join our waiting list at the bottom of this page.

When there is a new animal to rehome, we take a look at our waiting list to see if we have anyone suitable waiting for that specific pet.

Step 2:

Pet Matching Discussion

We’ll have a pet matching discussion with you to check you have a suitable home for the animal you’ve applied for.

We follow the RSPCA guidelines for animal care.

Step 3:

Send Us Photos

You’ll send us photos of the set up you’ve created for your new pet.

Step 4:

Meet Your Potential Pet

It’s time to come and meet your potential new friend!

Step 5:

Sign The Contracts

If everything goes well, you’ll sign the contracts.

Step 6:

Take Your New Pet Home

Welcome home your new family member! They will likely need a few days to settle into their new environment.

Step 7:

Follow-Ups

We’re here for you. We’ll check in after the first week and third week to make sure everything is going well.

Animals For Adoption

Small in size but big on charm, hamsters, rats, mice, and gerbils make delightful pets! These pocket-sized companions are curious, clever, and full of personality, bringing joy and endless entertainment. Perfect for those who want a lovable friend in a small package!

Geckos and bearded dragons are fascinating pets with tons of personality! These scaly companions are loveable, fun to watch, and each has its own unique quirks—from the gecko’s sticky-toed climbs to the bearded dragon’s friendly head-bobs. Perfect for anyone looking for a cool and captivating reptile buddy!

Join the Waiting List

If you would like to join the waiting list for a particular animal that is not published in the above categories, for example, if you are looking for rats and we don’t have any available, please fill in this form. When you are next on the list we will contact you to ask if you are still interested. If, before we email you about a match, you find a suitable animal elsewhere, please contact us by email (SuffolkRodentRescue@gmail.com) to let us know so that we can remove you from the list.

Please bear in mind that we do not control what animals we will be taking in and when, so this process could vary between several days to months. Thank you for your patience.
